Demand in European and American markets is strong.
In 2014, China exported medical dressings to a total of 196 countries and regions. Regionally, North America remained the largest export market, though the value of China's exports to Europe was very close to that of North America.

Europe was the second-largest market, with exports reaching $906 million—up 15.84% from the previous year—and making up 34.46% of the total. Asia ranked third, exporting $485 million, a 5.06% rise compared to the same period last year, and capturing 18.45% of the market share. Together, these three major continents accounted for an impressive 87.43% of China’s medical dressing exports.
Looking at specific countries and regions, the top 10 export markets are the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Australia, Belgium, and South Korea, with total exports amounting to US$1.843 billion, accounting for 70.1% of the overall export value.
Demand is recovering in European and American countries, leading to a growth trend in China's exports to these regions. Specifically, China's exports of medical dressings to the UK surged to $168 million, representing a remarkable 34.21% year-on-year increase and accounting for 6.39% of total exports to Europe and North America. Australia followed closely behind, ranking second in export growth with shipments totaling $64.9792 million—up 32.4% from the previous year—and making up 2.47% of China's overseas sales. The Netherlands rounded out the top three, with exports reaching $99.6068 million, a robust 25.67% rise compared to the same period last year, and contributing 3.79% to China's overall export share.
Meanwhile, the United States remains our most important export destination for medical dressings, with related exports totaling $865 million—up 13.25% year-on-year—and accounting for 32.9% of the total.
Emerging markets experience ups and downs.
However, China's exports to Latin America experienced a significant decline, with the relevant export value reaching $144 million—down 15.67% year-on-year—and accounting for 5.5% of total exports.
Affected by the sharp decline in oil prices and intense market competition, Chinese medical dressing exporters have shown a polarized trend in their efforts to penetrate emerging markets in Latin America. While exports to Venezuela and Cuba fell significantly—down 63.65% and 66.84%, respectively—reaching $21.5265 million and $4.6099 million—China’s exports to Brazil surged by 63.51% year-on-year, continuing the country’s rapid growth trajectory in this region. Currently, Brazil ranks as China’s 13th-largest export destination for medical dressings.
